In the past years, several countries have started collecting patient-level cancer surveillance data in DHIS2, often developing complex program rules and custom export apps to align DHIS2 data with CanReg5 software (a global public good for PBCR systems offered by WHO-IARC). This aim presents some technical challenges, such as building data validations for topography and morphology, routinizing data exchange to other systems, and aligning with CanReg5 metadata standards.

In Part 1 of this webinar series, the HISP Centre introduced the DHIS2 Toolkit for cancer registries as a way to address these challenges. In Part 2, this follow-up Installation and Adaptation Webinar will present a how-to guide for setting up DHIS2 Toolkit tracker program and app in your own country context.

The overall goal is to support the country cancer program’s technical team to install the cancer toolkit metadata and app into their own DHIS2 instances, and configure the program for local language and data requirements.

In this webinar (Part 2 of a two-part series)  will discuss:

  • How to install the metadata package for the DHIS2 Tracker Cancer Registry program
  • Overview of program rules used for data validation
  • Resources for adapting the program for local requirements, such as patient identifiers, custom program rules, languages, working lists, and indicators
  • How to install and configure the CanReg5 Export App for your own requirements
  • Guidance on requesting technical support

Join us at the webinar to get a practical walkthrough of setting up the toolkit in your own DHIS2 instance, configuring local program rules, and installing the CanReg5 Export App.
