These programs are seen as part of a broader reference architecture, where several systems and processes are contributing.
Requirements for Ebola were drawn from the WHO Ebola virus outbreak toolbox and Africa CDC recommendations.
The following resources within the toolkit can be viewed for further information:
- Implementation guide: Guidance on establishing a unified system for disease surveillance and outbreak response
- System design guide: Describes how DHIS2 can be configured for disease surveillance and outbreak response
- Data dictionary and DHIS2 metadata library: Listing variables of the reference DHIS2 configuration.
- Gap Analysis Tools: Provides a structured way to identify areas in need of strengthening prior to implementation
- Reference DHIS2 configuration (demo): Demonstrates how DHIS2 can be used as an integrated surveillance and outbreak response system
This work is part of an ongoing collaboration between HISP UiO, HISP groups in Africa, and Africa CDC under a memorandum of understanding between Africa CDC and the Kingdom of Norway on strengthening public health in Africa.
