    Academy Overview

The DHIS2 Tracker Configuration Academy is a hands-on training program designed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to design, configure, and manage tracker-based systems within DHIS2. Through practical exercises and real-world use cases, participants will learn how to define and apply the tracker data model, create and customize tracker programs. The academy also introduces advanced features such as program access levels, program rules, and indicators, enabling participants to build flexible and responsive systems that improve data quality and usability. By the end of the training, participants will be able to configure tracker systems that not only capture individual-level data effectively but also generate meaningful insights to strengthen program monitoring, evaluation, and decision-making.

    Participants Profile

The DHIS2 Tracker Configuration Academy is designed for participants who play a leading role in the configuration and implementation of DHIS2 tracker systems. The academy assumes that participants already have practical experience with DHIS2, particularly with the Maintenance app, and have configured at least one event program prior to attending. This ensures that participants can fully engage with the advanced tracker concepts and hands-on exercises delivered during the training. The main target groups include:

    • Technical Leads: Professionals responsible for designing and overseeing DHIS2 systems. They are expected to have a strong technical background to configure tracker programs, manage system architecture, and provide guidance to teams implementing DHIS2 at organizational or national levels.
    • DHIS2 Implementers: Individuals involved in the day-to-day configuration and customization of DHIS2. They support the setup of tracker programs, manage user roles and sharing settings, and ensure that program rules, indicators, and notifications are properly configured to meet program requirements.

By bringing together these key profiles, the academy creates a collaborative environment where participants can strengthen their technical expertise, share implementation experiences, and build capacity to manage robust tracker systems that improve program monitoring and decision-making.

    Learning Outcomes

By the end of the DHIS2 Tracker Configuration Academy, participants will be able to:

    • Define and apply the tracker data model in DHIS2 across different use cases
    • Create and configure tracker programs tailored to program needs
    • Create and modify user roles and user groups for effective system management
    • Apply appropriate sharing settings and program access levels to ensure data security and usability
    • Develop program rules, indicators, and notifications to enhance data collection, analysis, and decision-making

    Your Facilitation Team

DHIS2 experts and participants will work together on the principles and skills involved in Tracker Configuration.

While focusing on sharing experiences and solutions between different countries, the training will also promote collaboration and exchange between DHIS2 implementers within the region.
