To scale up NCD services, countries need reliable routine data on who is being reached, who is being treated, who is achieving control, and whether facilities have the medicines, equipment and staff to deliver care.
To celebrate Digital Health Week this week and World Diabetes Day the next, the HISP Centre is pleased to announce v1.0 of the DHIS2 NCD Toolkit at a global webinar on November 12. This first release focuses on routine monitoring of hypertension and diabetes service delivery. The toolkit will be expanded through community inputs over the next 24 months to other NCD domains as part of HISP’s ongoing partnership with World Diabetes Foundation.
In this launch webinar, we will discuss:
- Dashboards and indicators for monitoring hypertension and diabetes care, including registration, treatment and control. These artefacts build on HISP experiences building NCD data systems through the Diabetes Compass initiative in Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Malawi.
- An updated Hypertension & Diabetes (HTN/DM) Tracker program, with aggregate data exchange for producing aggregate reports from patient-level data.
- Triangulation of resource availability, combining health facility assessment data with stock reporting to show whether essential NCD medicines and commodities are available where patients are treated.
- A FHIR Implementation Guide of the HTN/DM Tracker, which supports interoperability between these DHIS2 tools and other digital health systems.
- A System Design Guide and “Design for Data Use” guidance, which help countries adapt the toolkit and make sure the data collected is used for decision-making.
- How countries can get started with the toolkit or request implementation support.
This webinar is ideally suited for NCD program managers, public health professionals, HMIS and health information system teams, and implementers and partners supporting NCD programs.
Whether you’re just getting started with NCD reporting in DHIS2, or you want to harmonize NCD data from multiple EMR sources, there is something here for you.
