DHIS2 Launches Technology Partnership Program to Strengthen Digital Health Ecosystems

New program connects developers and stewards of complementary digital platforms with the DHIS2 ecosystem, with nine founding partners already on board.

The DHIS2 team at the University of Oslo’s HISP Centre has launched a new Technology Partnership Program, a structured framework for collaboration between DHIS2 and developers of other digital platforms, with the goal of strengthening interoperability and helping governments build more connected national digital infrastructure.

As countries develop broader digital ecosystems, including supply chain systems, civil registration, national identification platforms, and other foundational services, those systems commonly need to exchange data with DHIS2. In practice, those connections are often missing, fragmented, or not well aligned.

The Technology Partnership Program addresses that gap by identifying and curating platforms that are highly complementary to DHIS2, and by facilitating structured collaboration on interoperability, joint deployments, and shared strategy across the DHIS2 ecosystem. The program is structured in three tiers, ranging from open collaboration at no cost, to deeper strategic co-investment, with flexible fee structures and discounts designed to make participation accessible to a broad range of partners, including other digital public goods.

“DHIS2 is most powerful when it’s part of a well-connected digital ecosystem,” said DHIS2 core team member Scott Russpatrick, who is spearheading the technology partnership initiative. “This program is about making it easier for governments to integrate the tools they need—and for technology partners to work with us, and with each other, toward that goal.”

Nine founding partners have already joined the program as Tier 2 Strategic Technology Partners: Analytics Platform, Crosscut, MOSIP, Neotree, OpenCRVS, OpenFN, OpenHEXA, Open mSupply, and WorldPop.

Following a kickoff webinar to launch this program, each of the Technology Partners will present their platforms and integrations with DHIS2 in more detail in subsequent online events.
