Harmony & DHIS2
Harmony is an open-source national health data integration, warehousing, and analytics platform developed by Zenysis Technologies. It brings together data from one or multiple DHIS2 instances with logistics, laboratory, surveillance, and other health data sources into a high-performance national data warehouse, with a built-in analytics environment that supports decision-making across all levels of the health system and provides the data infrastructure needed to operationalize National Health Intelligence Centers.

About Harmony
Harmony is a platform developed by Zenysis Technologies that integrates and harmonizes health system data into a national data warehouse and analytics environment for health decision-making. It strengthens existing systems without replacing them or changing their workflows, helping governments turn fragmented data into a system-wide view that can support decisions from national to facility level.
Harmony is designed to be owned by countries. Governments can configure the platform around their own data-access and governance requirements, determine how and where it is hosted, and adapt it to their national architecture, programs, and users.
As countries mature their Harmony deployments, the platform can provide the data and analytics infrastructure for a National Health Intelligence Center (HIC): a physical or virtual government capability that turns integrated data into routine situational awareness, performance management, and coordinated action.
Core capabilities include:
- Built-in data harmonization: Front-end tools allow teams to manage semantic mappings across data sources, including geographies, facilities, commodities, indicators and more, and update them as source systems change.
- Built-in public-health analytics: Provides public-health analytical capabilities within the platform, including advanced dashboards, data quality monitoring, geospatial tools, microplanning, and alerts.
- Mobile and offline access: Extends analytics and data use to subnational and frontline users, including in settings with limited connectivity.
- Predictive AI and model infrastructure: Provides harmonized, continuously refreshed data for developing, validating, and operationalizing predictive models.
- Generative AI for data use: Enables natural-language querying and AI-supported interpretation of integrated data, grounded in approved national data and reference materials.
Harmony is recognized as a Digital Public Good and a Global Good and has been implemented in national health systems across more than 10 countries. Zenysis works alongside ministries of health and partners to support implementation, governance, data use, capacity strengthening, and country ownership.
Harmony is a Strategic DHIS2 Technology Partner.
DHIS2 use case
DHIS2 is a critical foundation for routine health data collection, validation, reporting, analysis, and dissemination. However, health data can often remain fragmented across multiple DHIS2 instances and other systems, and making DHIS2 interoperable with all the systems leveraged by a government agency can be cost- and resource-intensive.
Harmony addresses this challenge by bringing approved DHIS2 data together with data from other systems, enabling cross-system analysis while extending the value of existing DHIS2 investments without disrupting source workflows.
Harmony adds value to DHIS2 in four main ways:
- Unified DHIS2 View: Connects data across one or multiple DHIS2 instances, enabling users to analyze information across programs or deployments in one place.
- Cross-System Analytics: Links DHIS2 data with routine, laboratory, logistics, EMR, surveillance, and other data sources to support integrated analysis across the health system.
- Data Quality Monitoring: Surfaces inconsistencies, gaps, and anomalies across systems, supporting systematic data quality review, thereby strengthening the underlying data sources.
- Whole-of-System Use Cases: Enables DHIS2 data to be used alongside other sources for resource allocation, epidemic intelligence, planning, and operational decision-making.
Harmony connects to DHIS2 through its built-in API, integrating its data into Harmony’s data warehouse and harmonizing it with other key government data sources so they can be seamlessly triangulated and interoperated.
Real-world examples
Rwanda Health Analytics Platform (RHAP)
Since 2018, Zenysis has worked with Rwanda’s Ministry of Health and Rwanda Biomedical Centre to support the Rwanda Health Analytics Platform (RHAP), powered by Harmony.
RHAP integrates more than 15 national health data systems and sources, including DHIS2/HMIS and DHIS2-based systems for disease surveillance, community health, HIV, and tuberculosis, alongside civil registration and other national data sources.
This integrated data foundation supports automated reporting, district planning and supervision, and analysis across programs and levels of the health system. RHAP is used by national and subnational teams and provides part of the data infrastructure underpinning Rwanda’s Health Intelligence Centre, enabling a broader, whole-of-system view of health performance.
Mozambique Advanced Data Analytics Platform (PAAD)
Since 2019, Zenysis has worked with Mozambique’s Ministry of Health to support the Advanced Data Analytics Platform (PAAD), powered by Harmony.
PAAD integrates more than a dozen data sources, including DHIS2-based routine, tuberculosis, and surveillance systems such as SISMA, SIS TB, and SIVE, alongside population data, the electronic logistics management system SELV, and other national sources.
By bringing these systems together, PAAD enables cross-program analytics across tuberculosis, HIV, immunization, malaria, and COVID-19, while supporting data quality, automated reporting, mobile access, and institutionalization. In immunization, for example, teams use PAAD to triangulate vaccination and logistics data, identify discrepancies, and focus follow-up on issues requiring data correction or programmatic action.
